Woodway Branch - Opening in 2020
Work began in August 2019 at the site of the new Woodway location with demolition of the existing Express Drive-Thru. A temporary branch is now open behind the construction site. Drive-thru, walk-in teller and night drop deposit services will remain available throughout the duration of the building project. Those needing an ATM can access the one located inside the American Bank Plaza lobby. Slated to open in 2020, the new Woodway branch will offer customers a full-service, modern, and convenient branch directly off Highway 6.

Bellmead Branch - Opening in 2021
Plans have also been announced to build a new, state-of-the-art bank located in Bellmead on the site of of the current Round Bank. This tangible investment demonstrates American Bank’s commitment to Bellmead, Lacy Lakeview, and the northern part of McLennan County and ensures the bank can deliver banking services to the area for years to come.
Since 1979, the “Round Bank” has been an iconic fixture and, in 2018, the branch was immortalized in the Robert Redford movie The Old Man and the Gun. The new design will pay homage to the Round Bank’s famous architecture while providing a state-of-the-art facility to serve our community. Construction of new Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) will begin this fall with work on the new building to follow in early 2020. All bank services will remain available at our Bellmead location throughout the construction process.
This is an exciting time for both the Waco community and American Bank. The opening of two new locations – coming on the heels of significant expansion of our Downtown Waco branch – is an extension of our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers both today and in the future. We look forward to elevating the banking experience for our customers. Dana R. Hassell, President and CEO
